At First Congregational Church of Paxton, our annual fundraisers do more than raise money—they build community, spark joy, and connect us with our neighbors. These events help sustain our ministries, support outreach efforts, and keep our church vibrant and welcoming. Take a look below to learn how you can get involved—we’d love to have you be part of the fun:
Rummage Sale
Our annual Rummage Sale is a favorite tradition at First Congregational Church of Paxton and a wonderful way to support the church while connecting with the wider community. It takes place each May in conjunction with the Paxton Town-Wide Yard Sale, coordinated by the Lions Club. You’ll find a wide array of gently used clothing, household items, books, toys, and other treasures—all at bargain prices.
Whether you’re on the hunt for something specific or just love the joy of discovery, the rummage sale is always full of good finds and friendly faces. All proceeds go directly to supporting the mission and ministries of our church.
Donations are welcome in the weeks leading up to the sale. If you’d like to contribute items or volunteer to help with sorting, setup, or staffing the event, please contact the church office—we’d love to have you join us.
Bake Sales
We host bake sales throughout the year, typically alongside major community events like the Paxton Town-Wide Yard Sale in May and Paxton Days in the fall. These sales are not only a fundraiser but a fun and delicious way to meet neighbors and share a little homemade joy.
Our bake tables are stocked with an ever-changing selection of treats, depending on the talents of our bakers. Past favorites have included pies, cookies, breads, muffins, cakes, whoopie pies, bars, and other made-from-scratch goodies. The response from the community is always enthusiastic—our baked goods are a hit year after year.
During events like Paxton Days, we also set up an information table to share more about our church’s mission and invite people to get involved. It’s a great time to meet new faces and strengthen community ties.
If you love to bake or just want to lend a hand, we’d love to have your help. Reach out to the church office to get connected.
